Would 'Checking' be an account, or a category?  Did you mean
subcategory "C" or sub-account "C"? Where did the '/' come from?  Are
you able to isolate a transaction causing what you are seeing, and can
you let us see it?  Ideally, the whole file, or at least the file
structure, with unnecessary transactions deleted.
