If I have understood this email correctly, you have removed my "bug report". 
If so, I note that my question remains unanswered, which is, why is the way
reconciliation works in the real world and worked in prior versions, now deemed
to be incorrect, and this new routine (which requires a kludge work-around)
considered to be the correct way?
