Yes, that has most likely always been the case. Although, tags had a few bugs
which we fixed in previous months. If you want to tag the split with the total
amount (the one in the e.g. checking account) you need to open the transaction
via one of the category ledgers. Then select the split editor and tag the split
that references the account and shows the total amount. Unfortunately, setting
it directly is not possible. Hope that answers all your questions. I close this
