Yes, I concur with your explanation. I wasn't aware of that splits worked as
you describe. Has that always been the case?

Is there a way to use a single tag when multiple splits are assigned to a
transaction. For example; I purchase an airline ticket. In the transaction I
wish to record the total cost with these splits; ticket cost, transportation
fee, travel fee, airport fee and tax. The way I understand the process, I would
need to add the transaction, enter each associated split and as I do, enter the
tag that's associated with that split. In my case, the overall purchase.

Is this correct?
