Hi Ralph,
thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, you did not mention which version of KMyMoney you are using. I expect it to be a Windows version though. Depending on the version, my comments to your suggestions might not work for you (esp. if you're using an older version). Please see below inline.

You can completely hide the closed accounts from the lists by using the Settings (General/Filter). There's a "Don't show closed accounts" checkbox.

I was actually thinking about something like that the other day ...

Current development is underway allowing to have multiple accounts open in tabbed form. Your idea is good though.

Did you know, that this happens if you check the 'Favorite account' checkbox? It's not an arbitrary order, but it collects those marked accounts in a prominent spot (at the top of the list).

Yes, another thing I was thinking of the other day as I need it in one case myself. Mapping to online account means direct connection using an specific online protocol for the data exchange (e.g OFX or HBCI). This is not for using your bank's web site. I don't know, if the Windows version supports KMyMoney's WebConnect feature. See also my next question.

Which (file) format do you use to import your data?
