I can't reproduce this - I can run KMM (Windows 7) and change the language to
pt_BR.  The language dialog changes to pt_BR, but I had to log out and in again
for the KMM splash screen to be pt_BR, but even then, the rest of the program
is still in English.  I don't know remember if languages need to be chosen at
install time, but I'll work a bit more on this before just waiting for other
ideas.
