[Kmymoney-devel] Comments about KMyMoney

As far as I know KMyMoney does not need to do anything that would
require administrator privileges. I can only see this happening if one
keeps the default installation path (the "Program Files" directory).
If the installer would be pointed to a user owned directory I guess no
privileges would be necessary. But it could be that Windows has some
rules for installers that will trigger UAC.

Just to sum it up: the KMyMoney installer is just an archive that
contains all the necessary files to run the application and all it
does is extract the files, run kbuildsyscoca after extraction and
create the start menu entries. I think these actions would not require
administrator privileges.
