Well, that was interesting.  The problem was occurring in 
investprocessing.cpp but not in the similar area of csvdialog.cpp.  Or 
so I thought.  However, the same basic issue was present there, but 
being hidden.

The ReadFile() routine was being beset by connects, which I've disabled 
in that area.
