There's a lot of toolage in Krita that has some "physicality" to it I think, so my idea would be theming the pictures around that. Like, a brush, a paint bucket, a layer stack etc. are all things that you can make Kiki interact with as if they were physical objects and users are likely to make the connection to both Krita and themselves using it right away.
