I see what the problem is.
In krita/plugins/paintops/defaultpresets there is no default preset for 
the sketch brush.
If you don't load an own preset krita will try to load the default preset.
If there is none it creates an preset with all PaintOp options 
deactivated (what is the case now).
And it seems that the sketch brush cannot handle such a preset.

This shouldn't be too hard to fix :)
