Patch for smudge

The blocky effect with big brush is not a bug, if you lower the spacing it is 
gone. (it also happen with gimp, and possibely with ps)

I am not sure if I understand. What is the drawback of your patch ? Otherwise, 
if it fixes the bug and still smudge, I would say commit.
