I don't think blaming will help any :-). It's just one of those problems that 
crop up during a transition time.

It _is_ possible to run both, but you have to have both KDE4 and KDE3 
installed, and there are a couple of gotchas. OpenSUSE seems to have solved 
those fairly well.
