colour formats are important
i guess most of those into computers tend to use rgb
but theres real advantages in YcbCr and CMYK / CMYKRB
formats ,, mainly for those fermiliar with mixing paints
that has given me a realy neat idea for a kool unique feature that could be
implimented in krita 2
basicaly when panting with water colours / or oils or other types of paints
you tend to learn quickly that mixing say red and yellow produces orange
and it becomes second nature that to get the colour you want you add say 75%
of one colour with 20% of another and 5% of yet another
anyway the idea is to have a colour mixing pallet that could provide that
basicaly you select a colour and then can add another to it
now the kool bit is that if you can create something on the lines of a mixing
tray , where you can have your own say 16 or so colours that you have mixed
a bit like the custom colours
with the abilaty to eather pick a colour from eather the rgb colour wheel or
other pallet sets or even a YcbCr ,CMYK or CMYKRB mixer
guess being able to adjust other properties like shade (darken /lighten )
also
from the point of view of a painter , it would let them work in a way there
accustomed to , plus is a good aid for those wanting to learn how to paint
using colours and mixing
theres lots of disadvantages from using rgb colour scapes anyway
even though the actual display is limited to it
having the colour wheel is bad in some ways for some as it does not
allow you to pick a colour , paint , add a bit of red , paint , add more
yellow ,and some black to make it darker and paint
you end up getting slightly the wrong tone , and theres no quick way to :-
pick a starting colour ,, paint
use it to make another tone of the same base colour and paint
find the original colour again , and paint
anyway thoughts ,, i know it needs a bit of thinking on and needs the
interface refining but i think it could be a kool feature for krita 2
some sort of colour history would be usefull also as often is the case where
you use one colour ,, think youve finished so pic a diferent one , only to
find when you zoomed in that you missed a bit ,, and have to then hunt around
with the colour picker for it again
