I'm back.

According to one person on alt.os.linux.slackware there is a bug
in Imagemagick which keeps the current version of KDE on Slackware
from compiling properly. Apparently the bug in Imagemagick is in
the process of being repaired. Here is the exchange:

Okay, "Magick" on the forum just confirmed that it was an ImageMagick issue,
and an updated release should arrive soon...

If the bug is fixed then graphicsmagick may not be needed for
Slackware. Perhaps it may not be needed for Krita either. My
concern is that if the bug is fixed then graphicsmagick may not
be offered on Slackware, which will eventually make Krita not
available on that distro.

Please don't shoot the messenger.
