Animated GIF's

Does Krita handle creating animated gif's? I looked in the 
mailing list archives, Krita's user documentation, the Krita web 
site, and on Google for information about this.

Currently, I use Gimp with the GAP plugin for animations. Timing 
information for gif's is added through the layer comment, but 
when loading a Gimp-created gif animation into Krita, that 
timing info is absent from the layer comment.

I find nothing in Krita's menu structure suggesting a possible 
feature to handle this. Am I missing something?
