There's also the type of filter that renders something onto a layer, like
PhotoShop's clouds, or our raindrops -- for those you need to figure out a
limit, where to stop. It's not enough to touch pixels that have been set,
you need all pixels in a certain rect. How is filling a complete layer
done, currently?
