I'll go to work immediately.

As for width and height of paint devices it doesn't make sense.

The extent can be used, but it'll lead to potentially huge memory consumption, 
so it is not the way to do it.

How about an iterator that visits every pixel that has been touched. It 
advances to the next pixel and then you query the iterator of x and y of the 
pixel if you need to.

The iterator could then provide a percentage count quite easily.
