[Kget] help needed using kget.h

hi
  i need some help regarding kget.h i was seeing the source code. i was
able to understand how the download speed and time left for completion is
calculated but what i did not understand is how the data is transferred.
is it through socket implementation??also kindly tell me which socket is
used during this data transfer and can we tunnel data through any other
socket also.
   also if there is any help needed in development of the library please
tell me
