Aaron did this to help quickly clear blockers stopping the move to git
( as currently being discussed on kde-core-devel ). Given that many
things still need to be worked on the gitorious side ( notifications,
SLA, etc ), it is probable that the move is 1 month+ out, unless
something magic happens.

Possible solutions are:
1) using a git submodule, disadvantage is that you have a frozen
snapshot at the point in time the submodule is created, it must be
updated per commit

2) Make btcore a seperate library. Binary compatibility between minor
KDE releases would need to be considered to avoid breaking KGet
