Hi,

I have the same problem and found this bug report. I have the following use
case:

I'm using a document scanner to scan a lot of PDF files to one input folder.
Each week I browse through this folder and rename/sort the PDFs in there. I
usually select each file in a file manager and use the preview image to get the
document date and correspondent. I then rename the file accordingly and sort in
into my folder structure. 

With dolphin this method is not possible as the limited preview size does not
allow me the read the date properly. 

I therefore  would love to see bigger preview images for PDF files. Is there
something I can help with? I'm not able to code but could help to document the
use case further and probably check how this is handled by other file managers.
