Hi, I'm sorry if my point wasn't clearly stated, I thought that these two
sentences convey the same concept you explained in your comment?

For this reason I think that the Path column should be shown, if not already
part of the user-selected columns, every time a search operation is initiated
(i.e.search text field is displayed).

And following the same principle it should then be hidden again once the user
leaves the search mode.
