Plugins documentation

Can anyone point me to some documentation on how to install plugins in 
Konqueror?
I'm also curious if "parts" (http://www.konqueror.org/features/viewer.php) are 
the same/better/worse than plugins.

I've looked around, and I can't find any up-to-date information.

I'm running debian, and debian-stable contains revision 3.1 of the Konqueror 
handbook, dated 2002.  Also, in case it helps to know, I'm not
(as far as I know) running any other parts of the kde environment.
