I think we could remove the Info List, Tree View, and Text View myself.  Or at 
least find a nice way to merge Detailed List and Text View.

This sounds like an idea.

Actually the gallery is nice in its own right, if only because it allows for 
quicker navigation.  One problem with it is that you can't right-click files 
to bring open the context menu for some reason.

BTW, I think some picture viewers, like Gwenview's, have a Next/Previous image 
button.

Or like Windows Explorer (where it's on the left?) :)

I think there is something like that on kde-apps.org (called Metabar IIRC) 
then integrates into the Konqi sidebar.

I don't think Konqueror will become the universal editor any day soon.  
However, having a Open With button right on the toolbar when viewing a file 
may be a possibility, especially if it's one of the arrow-drop-downs that 
offers all the apps associated with that mimetype.

I myself think the usability lists would be better, but maybe just putting a 
note out on the lists that there is a discussion about Konq over here would 
suffice?
