"view properties saved in folder" and bug 57683

Can anyone confirm bug 57683?
And can anyone answer my question from that bug?

Can anyone enlighten me on how the "view properties saved in folder" option 
works? 
 Because it doesn't appear to do anything on my system but I'm thinking that 
perhaps I misunderstand what it is meant to do.
