Great idea!

I think the debate as to whether Kfm should open up to
the user’s home directory or to a screen listing the
KIO slaves can be elegantly solved to satisfy both
sides by making tree-view default (see
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94865 and
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94858):
1) When the user opens Kfm, his home directory will
automatically be selected in the left pane and the
contents of his home directory will be displayed in
the right pane.

2) At the same time, KIO slaves that are already
configured will appear as nodes in the tree. Kfm
should also allow users to configure new KIO slaves by
right clicking (see
http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=9209&action=view).


This way, the user sees both the contents of his home
directory AND the network capabilities of Kfm in one
glance!
