No. If an element isn't displayed, it's not rendered. In fact, khtml will not
even create a render object then. Don't start an argument about khtml
internals, I'll beat you hands down ;-)

Right. There exists kdenonbeta/kdom to alleviate this problem. Maybe khtml
will switch to it one day.
