The normal parsing flow doesn't make use of insertBefore. Maybe I'm 
overlooking something, but I don't see the problem you describe here.

You're right that HEAD's renderer is closed prematurely. But as it hasn't got 
any renderer, it does no harm.

We have to correctly handle that close() thingy after KDE 3.4.
