Yes, there are ways of course. But many people like "all in one window" solutions
nowadays (see koshell, kontact, konq tabs, etc.). So "two windows" solutions
aren't good for everyone.
I'm basing this on observing my wife using Konqueror :)
She often uses the sidebar to go to a $HOME directory from a webpage, after saving
something to a local directory (ok, using the file dialog, not dnd). Yet, konqueror is
maximized, she doesn't want to open another window.
This is also something I meant to say in the old discussion about filemanager vs webbrowser
separation in Konqueror... It goes a bit against the kontact-like approach, all in one
window, that many users seem to like.
