weird problems with konqueror (KHTML specifically) in KDE 3.3 Beta1

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response.

Qt was also downloaded, compiled and installed as part
of konstruct build process. That has always compiled
Qt with gif & jpeg support. 

If I use Konqueror to browse files locally, then I can
open .gif and .jpeg files and view them just fine. It
is just on the webpages that I am having trouble. For
example, if I go to http://www.google.com; the
top-most google logo.gif file does not display. The
rest of the text displays just fine.
