Before you look at the code in depth, it might be worth doing a bit of user 
perspective first. That is, "the functionality that KDE should provide is..." 
and "the reason why KDE should provide that functionality is...". The more 
compelling the reason, the more likely it is that the functionality will make 
it.

It might not convince anyone to go off an code your wishes, but at least if 
they are going to do such coding, your voice will have been heard.
