Using Konqueror to automatically convert SVG to pictures

Hi!

I am planning to program a web application which will generate a page for users to print out that could be best realized in SVG.

Because SVG support currently isn't very widespread, I was wondering wether it's possible to let Konqueror (or just the SVG plugin) render the SVG, not on a screen, but into a bitmap file (which can then be converted into a PNG or JPG)

Is it possible to do that automatically (maybe via DCOP)?
