erf.. my bad... should've said "www.kde.org" ... this doesn't work, as it
interprets it as a filename. very few will know they can put http:// (or any
other protocol) in the location of the open file dialog, and many people
don't bother putting the (to the, implied) http:// anyways...

right.. so now the Ctrl-O action works for some but not all open actions, and
requires more knowledge to get it to open things such as web sites...

i don't have wide ranging stats on this either... but i do know many of those
i work with, live with or know use the Location / Open action as a general
"open this thing" dialog. i'm not sure deviating from the "defacto standard"
as put forward by other browsers / file managers is the best thing...
but i would think it's safe to assume that websites and file system
directories (ftp, smb, nfs, local, etc) are openned far more often in
konqueror than individual files...
