konqueror doesn't show chinese text as file manager

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to make konqueror show
chinese character as part of the file name when you
use it as a file manager? If the file name consists of
some chinese characters konqueror always shows ????. I
tried to set the language and locale in the kcontrol
to "China". I can see that menus and rest of the
system all show currect chinese translations but
konqueror still didn't show the file name in chinese
even after I created an empty file and pasted some
chinese characters in the dialog box.

I am sorry if this question has been asked before but
I just can't find the answer anywhere. I really hope
someone can point me into the right direction because
this is very important to me.
