Automate shell commands

The incorporated Execute Shell Command is great and very convenient.  Just 
wondering if it's possible to link this option with the execution of an 
alias or shell script?  For instance, by associating a file type with this 
option using "open with," ideally the shell command window would open and 
then execute the script automatically without user intervention.
