a question of speed

Here are two logs of the problem. 

One is a log of the output of a debug version of kdelibs, the other is
the output of an strace of kio_http. 

Both are logs of an attempt to access mp3.com from konqueror with our
latest release, SPX. This doesn't occur when trying to access mp3.com
from mozilla, or from kde 3.0.0 on suse or redhat.
