Hi
To paraphrase this question we can ask: what we can do to encourage
more people for KDE/Mac contributions.
There are few open source developers, and even fewer have access to
macs (modern enough at least).

I think the answer could be: talk about the need, spread the word
about Kexi. It's good that you're apparently accustomed with the Linux
version. The issues you talk about are related to software packaging
on Mac, isn't quite Kexi specific. I do not what exact issues you mean
though. Usability?

Regarding to the installation differences... KDE software is modular,
so there're packages needed that share common components, otherwise
you'll end up with apps taking too much space in you memory...
