Compiler output not coloured?

Hi,

up to now, I was using KDevelop-2.x, recently I upgraded to 
KDevelop-3.3.1. 

Unfortunately this new version doesn't show coloured compiler output 
messages any more (errors were marked red, warnings blue, before).

Any suggestions under which circumstances the colour output can get lost / 
how to make it work again?
