how to compil a import project

hi,

I would like to compil the xmms project.

so I downloaded xmms-1.2.10.tar.gz.
I untared thtat, and in kdevelop3 I did import a project.
I choose the xmms directory and he created the project.

and after??? how to compil that. if I do build project. he take to me 
"run autoamke and friends, but xmms has their own automakes and others 
compiles files.

so how to compil that whitout run automake and friends.
