Simple KDE Application

I am trying to get the tutorial for the "Simple KDE Application" at
http://women.kde.org/articles/tutorials/kdevelop3/creating.html to add a UI
in the step "Using Qt Designer" with a simple button.

I can create the KDE application OK and see "Hello World" after running the
various Build steps. The issue seems to be that even though I can create the
Widget, I cannot get the button to display after I run those various Build
steps. I have tried both creating the application, running Build steps, then
adding the widget and running the Build steps again, and doing both the
project creation and Build steps in one fell swoop.

The Build steps are "Run automake & friends", "Run configure", "Build
Project", "Install" & "Execute".

I create the button by right clicking on the .ui file with the
Fileselectorwidget as I dont know yet how to get the "automake manager" to
come up other then by creating a new file. Perhaps I am going awry here,
perhaps not.

I wonder if someone could offer a few suggestions as I try to come up to
speed using the kdevelop3 IDE for the first time and create various
examples. In general, I really like the IDE, I just dont quite know how to
care for it or feed it yet.
