| As far as I know, the best approach is to use one of the project
templates to
| create a simple project along the lines you are working, and then
import you
| existing code. It's not as smooth as I would like, but all the
options for
| importing an existing project require you have some kind of automake,
qmake,
| etc., configuration already setup for the project. There's now way to
start
| with pure source, AFAIK, and import it as a project.

That's what I've been doing.. But it's a pain. I was hoping I missed
something in the docs or something...
