Menus in Kdenormal

Hi guys

I am having nothing but trouble trying to add menu items to the File
menu in a kde normal application.

The standard project does not show the "file_new_window"  menu that is
in the <appname>rc.ui file, and nothing I do can get it to work.

I am using kdevelop 2.1.5 on a stock fedora core 1 installation

Any ideas.
