Adding directory

Hi there,
I have one problem when adding directory with sources to project:
* I have a poject and I create a subdirectory in it 
* I add sources and headers via "Project --> Add existing File(s)"
* I run "Build --> Autoconf and automake" and "Build -->Configure"
* then I try to make my project but error message appears that there is nothing to make. 
I have found that Makefile.am is empty. How to solve it? How can I add new subdirectory with sources and headers into existing project? I have kdevelop 2.1.5.
