linker option issues

i am working with KDevelop 2.1 and am unable to get the Linker Options ( F7 Linker Options ) to accept '-lpthread' at compile it returns the same error every time.


gmake[2]: lpthread: Command not found 


-lpthread works from the command line but not through KDevelop.
Any ideas?
