cannot run gideon

KDEDIRS should include the path to the directory that you installed 
kdevelop in.
if you have configure as
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/gideon
then you should say
#export KDEDIRS=/usr/local/gideon:$KDEDIRS && kbuildsycoca
