Probably QTDIR environment variable is set in ~/.bashrc file. You should
initialize it in the ~/.profile

Autotools stuff isn't necessary if you are writing a portable program with Qt.
KDevelop uses QMake manager for such kind of projects so you always have
the ability to build your project with qmake on Windows or MacOS.
