KDE widgets in .ui Files

According to my research :), the file in question is called "kdewidgets.so", 
which resides (in my installation) under:
usr/lib/kde3/plugins/designer/kdewidgets.so

However, copying or symlinking this to 
/usr/lib/qt3/plugins/designer/
doesn't help.

I may get more help on the qt mailinglist, and perhaps I will ask, but I think 
the main problem is one, which is interesting for this list too: 
1. Some of you say, that their "normal" install off KDE/QT got everything 
right (like on my "old" installation)
2. If it doesn't work (like with my current installation), you seem to have to 
change your QT installation in one way or another
3. Not in every distribution has this installed right out of the box 

The problem is, when I used KDE widgets in my old installation many people 
can't compile it via ./configure; make; because their uic doesn't know KDE 
(this happens mostly but not only on RedHat installations). So this people 
can't compile such KDE applications (easily). In my special case the only 
problems where KIntSpinBox and KTextBrowser. For the moment I replaced them 
with QSpinBox and QTextBrowser.
