Versions of KDevelop

Can anyone tell me, or point me to a link, about the current versions of 
KDevelop? Are KDevelop 2.x and Gideon being developed separately, and are 
both planned to be continued? Is KDevelop 3 the same as Gideon? Which is 
"strategic" from the KDE point of view?
