compiler, linker options and compiler warnings not enabled

In every project I downloaded that was a kdevelop project, when I open it 
with KDevelop, the compiler options, the linker options and the compiler 
warnings are not enabled. Why ? and how can I enable them ? if this is 
specified in some manual, please, spot it to me, I've read all the things I 
could and I couldn't find this beheaviour documented. And please, don't 
ignore me.
