FYI, also here (Mandrake 8.1 with included KDE 2.2.1), after upgrading either 
to gcc 3.0.1 or to gcc 3.0.2, the linking fails, I think because QT has been 
compiled using the unofficial gcc 2.96 snapshots and the ABI for c++ has 
changed.
I suggest to Dieter to recompile QT using the same compiler used to compile 
the applications, the same thing I'll do as soon as I have time to do it.
