password aging with kdm

Hello !
When I log in to console I get the message:
 "Your password will expire in ... days"
Then I have the possibility to change the password
before the account will be expired.

Using kdm I don't see any hint. Even when the
account is already expired I don't get any hint.
And I don't have any possibility to change the
expired password.

What can I do to get the expiration hint in time ?
